Solitude and Serenity!

Solitude and Serenity was what spoke to me when I saw this image a few weeks back from Paper Cupcakes and it is what my family has been in search of over the past few days after the happenings of the past fortnight.

Sadly less than a fortnight after realizing something wasn't quite right, my Father In Law passed peacefully on Thursday and is now watching over us all from above.  The realization that he is no longer with us hasn't quite set in as we are still coming to terms with the the why and how suddenly everything happened.

Adding to the stress of this past week, my hubby ended up in hospital on two separate occasions with chest pains and sadly for him, his brother, and I we were all in the Emergency Department of the Gold Coast Hospital whilst Dad (FIL) was upstairs in another ward and peacefully passed shortly after they stopped the oxygen with my mother in law and sister in law by his bedside.

Today whilst Rod is with his mum and sister discussing things, I am finding some comfort in creating and given the current circumstances thought it would be the right time to share this card which I made a few weeks back and which spoke to me today as I think about my Father In Law and the past week.

Luckily for us all we have wonderful friends and family who have been a tremendous support during this difficult time and I want to thank everyone for their words of comfort and support that they left for me here or sent over the past few weeks and more recent days.

Danie, I am so sorry to hear of your Father in law. It's always hard those of us that love someone when they are called home, but I am sure your love is right there, too. Your card is beautiful and that your FIL channeled its' creation makes it so much more special. Blessings, friend - be well. xox0

Dani, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. So glad your husband is okay, so sad about your father in law. Cancer can be so scary with how it can hide and then suddenly it's too late, this happened to a fave uncle of mine, he was gone in less than two weeks after being diagnosed. I hope your families memories of your FIL will get you through this tough time. hugs oxoxo

Danie, I am so sorry to hear about your FIL and that your DH has been sick, as well. I saw this awesome card and just came to comment on it when I learned your news. You did a great job coloring it and this is one of my favorite Paper Cupcakes images. Sending you a hug.
