I haven't been near a doctor for a few years, and having just turned 40 I have been saying I need to go and have a full health check. Over the past few days a recent health scare for my FIL has reaffirmed that I need to do this.
Up until now my FIL had been plodding along thinking he was in fairly good health, however after catching a recent bug after getting caught in the rain he went to see his doctor last week, who was concerned over his coughing etc and sent him for some tests. The results came back and were not so good. He was told that he has three health issues all of which are potentially life threatening.
Then on the Sunday Night he had a further non related health scare. He had to have scans done yesterday and is seeing a specialist today. The fact that he wasn't allowed home from the Emergency Department until the doctor had spoken to a specialist and the fact that he has gotten in so quickly to see the specialist is a concern. And the expected diagnosis advised by the Emergency Doctor which will hopefully be confirmed today will mean that within a week, my FIL has gone from thinking he is in relatively good health to having four potentially life threatening conditions.
Needless to say it has been a stressful few days here. It definitely has us all analyzing our current health and way of life, and I will be booking in for that check-up very soon.
Anyway on with my Magical Monday Post.
Over at There's Magic in the Air this fortnight, we have a fantastic challenge that has been set by the lovely Kathy who wants to see you create a card using two circles, glitter and lace. I have to say I am loving my fellow Paper Cupcakes DT members way of using circles on their cards this challenge, as quite a few inspiring ideas here I thought.
I kept my overall design simple this week, and probably used the most unimaginative way of incorporating circles into my design but I was concentrating on my desire to use the Stampendous Color Fragments on my card. These fragments sort of reminded me of broken egg shell and I thought would be a cute touch to go with this image. They give a wonderful textural element to any project. I colored the image with my Tria Markers, the lace is from Stampin' Up and I don't know if you can see it very well in my photo, but I used some gold Kindy Glitz over the Pussy Willow buds and flowers.
The next week proves to be a busy one here at home, with both my mother's and my mother in laws birthdays and Easter smack bang in between. It also means lots of card making too.....lol
I do hope you will play along with the TIMITA Challenge this week if you get a chance. And I cannot wait to see lots more inspiring ways to incorporate circles, glitter and lace.
